About Olea
Olea (formerly In Sabina) is an elegant and breathtaking retreat centre nestled in the tranquil Sabina countryside near Rome. Two beautifully restored farmhouses seamlessly blend rustic Italian charm with modern comfort.
Less than an hour north of Rome, Olea lies in the midst of the untouched Italian countryside. The peaceful property offers a pool, tranquil gardens amongst olive groves, and a stunning yoga platform with panoramic views.
It's the perfect location for relaxation and rejuvenation, nature walks and stunning sunsets.
Retreat programme
The yoga practice will be held outdoors on the magnificent wooden yoga platform overlooking the lush valley, or in the tranquil indoor yoga space with views over the hills and vales.
The day will begin with a dynamic flowing morning yoga class suitable for all levels, followed by breakfast on the terrace. The practice will include meditation and asana, with a focus on breath and alignment. After the morning session there will be time for massage, relaxing by the pool, swimming or a visit to the local village.
The group will meet again in the late afternoon for a more relaxing and restorative class. There will be one yoga free day and no yoga on travel days.
Things to do
One could quite easily while away a week of deep rest and rejuvenation here: relaxing by the swimming pool, having a massage treatment, finding a quiet secluded spot with a good book, or taking a walk in the stunning natural surroundings.
There are nice walks from the house and even better ones just a short drive away. The Farfa River hike is popular in the summer months and perfect for cooling off.
The area is rich in sites of historic and natural beauty. The charming medieval hilltop village of Casperia is close by and the culturally rich hill town of Orvieto is within easy reach. On Friday evening there will be dinner out at a local restaurant or winery.
Accommodation & food
The exquisitely restored 17th century farmhouses offer accommodation that seamlessly blends rustic Italian charm with modern comfort.
The rooms are designed in a comfortable, natural style with serene views of the Sabina countryside. Four of the bedrooms are en-suite. The other four bedrooms share two bathrooms.
Most rooms can be doubles, twins or triples and there are a limited number of single occupancy rooms available.
There are three glamping tents and two small camper vans close to the pool area with outdoor hot showers and a shared indoor toilet close by. The tents and campers have proper beds, electricity and fans.
Olea's chef will create Mediterranean vegetarian dishes with an Italian touch, using locally sourced ingredients for breakfast, lunch and dinner. On Friday evening there will be dinner out at a local restaurant or winery.
