Yewfield is a luxurious and comfortable vegetarian B&B set in an idyllic location in the heart of the English Lake District. It is ideally situated for breathtaking walks and offers magnificent views of this exquisite region of rare natural beauty.
There are over 80 acres of land around the house, including native woodland, rough fell pasture, a small tarn and a stream. The grazed pasture is carefully managed giving priority to ecological considerations.
There will be yoga classes each morning and evening in the light and airy yoga studio with garden views and a log burner.
Morning classes will begin with meditation and pranayama, moving into an uplifting, dynamic practice to strengthen and align the body. The evening classes will generally be restorative in approach, working with a meditative mind focused on breath and posture, working towards a greater depth of awareness and sense of inner peace.
Each day after morning yoga and breakfast, there will be the opportunity to explore the area's many walks and breathtaking surroundings with a picnic lunch.
Arrival time on Thursday 20 April is from 3pm onwards. You can arrive earlier from 1pm if you want to explore the beautiful surroundings. The first yoga session will be at 5pm. The weekend will finish mid-morning on Sunday after yoga and breakfast.
Things to do
Yewfield is set in a quiet elevated position with panoramic views over the Vale of Esthwaite, Lake Windermere and the Fells beyond and just a short distance from Tarn Hows, a well known landmark in the Lake District.
Between yoga classes there will be time for you to explore the woodland, open fell and lakes that start right from the front door. Or you can curl up with a good book in the lounge, a quiet space to relax and enjoy the fine views in comfort.
Situated in over 30 acres of its own grounds, Yewfield is an impressive country house with Gothic architecture dating back to 1859.
Rooms are furnished to a high standard. Double and twin rooms at Yewfield are individually appointed to a very high standard, all with en-suite bathrooms, TV, radio and tea/coffee making facilities.

I had a wonderful weekend at Yewfield. This was my first YOAS retreat and it did not disappoint. Yewfield is a beautiful location with no shortage of things to do from stunning walks to browsing around the local shops. As a group we formed amazing connections which made the whole experience an absolute joy. I'm still enjoying the relaxing and grounding benefits of being at Yewfield and would highly recommend YOAS to anyone interested in a yoga retreat.Michelle
My feedback on the yoga weekend is all positive: the venue was stunning - so serene and tranquil - and the service was friendly and extremely attentive. The accommodation and food were lovely. The yoga studio was an absolute pleasure to be in. I really enjoyed the weekend, from the booking process with you right to the end of the break and I can't think of anything which I would have changed.Lolly
