Holiday ExpiredAbout the virtual retreat
As we take another pause from running in person retreats we wanted to offer some virtual retreats to nourish, energise and restore as winter draws in. These virtual retreats offer an opportunity to connect with our amazing YOAS teachers and the wider YOAS community. We can’t wait to see you (virtually) on the mat.
Following the overwhelming success of our spring and summer virtual retreats we have lined up four more of our wonderful teachers for an immersive day retreat as outlined below (on UK time):
8.30 - 9.45am - Pause, Nurture and Restore with Lara Stapleton
11 - 12.15 - Energising Flow with Kate McKenzie
3 - 4.15pm - Restorative Yin with Jess Horn
6 - 7pm - Evening Slow Flow and Yoga Nidra with Amy McDonald
Pause, Nurture and Restore with Lara: 8.30am - 9.45am
Lara will begin the retreat with a guided meditation and dharma introduction on unity, the collective energy and building resilience to align with our true nature to nourish heart, body and mind. You will then be guided on the ground through somatic movements, connecting to the felt sense through spirals, circular and sliding, gliding exercises to reduce mayo-fascial holding and bring a new found vitality and radiance to your inner and outer structures. We will explore the essence of the breath through gentle therapeutic and supported asana in preparation for pranayama. A journey to yield and heal.
Energising flow with Kate: 11am - 12.15pm
This flowing session aims to tap into our solar centres in order to ignite energy and power. Here in the Northern hemisphere, as the daylight dwindles, we respect the season by turning in, though can also shape our practice to keep our inner fires stoked. Through stimulating, twisting and strengthening movement, we will light up our ‘jewelled city’ (Manipura/navel chakra) and build the confidence to shine within and without.
Restorative Yin with Jess: 3pm - 4.15pm
Jess will lead you through a soothing practice, taking you deeper and deeper into stillness helping you to find much needed Space. Most of us are moving through life at a fast pace and we feel like we don't have any time.
This practice of surrender, will include gentle movement, breath work and supported yin and restorative poses helping you to feel Nourished, Rested and Spacious.
Evening Slow Flow and Yoga Nidra with Amy: 6pm - 7pm
How it works
Please make a booking for the day retreat though our website. All classes will be live streamed through Zoom. If you don't already have it, download the Zoom app on your computer here: zoom.us/download or your phone (in the App Store or Google Play).
Once you have made a booking we will send further details and instructions on how to use Zoom a couple of days beforehand.
Links to access each class will be sent the night before the retreat. You will be able to join each class 5 minutes beforehand on the day.
You will need enough space to roll out your mat and to be able to stretch your arms above your head. If you have yoga props please have them to hand. Here are the things you will need:
- Yoga mat
- Blanket or meditation shawl
- Firm cushion or yoga block/brick to sit on
- A yoga belt - or a dressing gown cord works well
- Yoga bolster or a couple of pillows/cushions
- Warm layers & socks
We look forward to connecting with you all and practising together once again. Thank you for being part of our amazing community.
