Transform and quieten the mind and body on our New Year retreat at Suryalila in Southern Spain.

Originally an olive hacienda, Suryalila is a fabulous retreat centre located in the heart of Andalusia, close to the charming villages of Arcos de la Frontera and Prado del Ray. It is less than an hour's drive away from the historic and beautiful cities of Cadiz and Seville and the very best unspoilt beaches in Spain.

On the edge of a mountainous national park, the property sits in a large river valley overlooking rolling hills and in the far distance, the white village of Bornos, situated by the side of a large lake.

With its beautifully decorated accommodation, expansive rolling hills, saltwater pool and nourishing meals, Suryalila offers it all.

Retreat programme

Enjoy energising morning flow yoga and replenishing afternoon restorative yoga. Relax the mind with a daily meditation practice and return to nature with guided walks in the beautiful Andalusian countryside. This retreat is a perfect balance of movement and stillness to help welcome in 2024 with deep insights, a revitalised sense of purpose and a joyous celebration of being alive. The classes will be suitable for all levels and experience.

Suryalila has two inspiring, spacious and fully equipped yoga shalas. One with wooden floors, a beamed ceiling and plenty of light and air. The other is a magnificent dome yoga shala with breathtaking views across the rolling hills. There will be the opportunity to practice in both places during your stay.

Between yoga classes there will be the chance to explore the beautiful natural surroundings or simply relax.

Things to do

Suryalila is perfectly located to visit many of the stunningly beautiful and culturally rich towns and cities of Andalusia, as well as the gorgeous unspoiled beaches of the Costa de Luz.

There will be time set aside each day to take in the stunning beauty of the surroundings. Perfect for long walks, bicycle rides or massage treatments with local therapists.

Included in the retreat price is an excursion to Grazalema, a beautiful white town nestled in the mountains close to Suryalila. There will be a guided hike in the national park followed by a visit to the town.

Accommodation & food

Suryalila offers luxurious, comfortable, designer decorated accommodation in little houses each with their own kitchen and living room area.

There are different levels of accommodation to suit every budget, including doubles with private bathrooms, singles, twins and mini dormitories for up to four people.

Beautiful yurts, mini domes and eco casas with proper beds, furniture, electricity and outdoor shower and toilet facilities are also on offer for those who want something comfortable but more affordable and to get closer to nature.

Throughout the day you will be offered three delicious vegetarian meals, breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Suryalila kitchen prepares the most delicious and nourishing vegetarian cuisine, using the freshest seasonal, home grown and locally-sourced organic fruits and vegetables.

Vegan, non-dairy, non-gluten diets can be catered for but dishes are cooked in a kitchen where these ingredients are used. For nut allergy sufferers there will be a supplement charge of 10€ per day. For other allergies and intolerances please check before booking.

On New Year’s Eve there will be a delicious dinner at Suryalila followed by gathering and music around the fire pit.
