About In Sabina
In Sabina, an elegant and breathtaking retreat centre in the heart of the Sabine Hills, offers spectacular views and a magical setting. Less than an hour north of Rome, In Sabina lies in the midst of the untouched Italian countryside.
The property is peaceful and rustic, offering a haven for spiritual practice, relaxation and rejuvenation. The retreat centre’s grounds are lush and abundant with lovely gardens, a pond, a natural spring and swimming pool. The perfect location for stunning sunsets and nature walks.
The yoga practice will be held outdoors on the magnificent wooden yoga platform overlooking the lush valley or in the serene and tranquil indoor yoga space with views over the hills and vales.
The day will begin with a dynamic flowing morning yoga class followed by breakfast on the terrace. Practice will include meditation and asana focusing on breath and alignment. After the morning session there will be time for massage, relaxing by the pool, swimming or a visit to the local village.
The group will meet again in the late afternoon for a more relaxing and restorative class. There will be one yoga free day and no yoga on travel days.
Delicious Italian/vegetarian breakfast, lunch and dinner will be served daily. On one evening there will be dinner out at a local restaurant. Also, an optional day-trip excursion will be offered for those who would like to explore the culturally rich hill town of Orvieto.
Things to do
One could quite easily while away a week of deep rest and rejuvenation here. Relaxing by the swimming pool, having a massage treatment, finding a quiet secluded spot with a good book or taking a walk in the stunning natural surroundings. There are nice walks from the house and even better ones just a short drive away.
The area is rich in sites of historic and natural beauty. Only 10 minutes away, the charming medieval hilltop village of Casperia is a favourite haunt for In Sabina groups for dinner out on a Friday evening.
An optional day trip to the culturally rich hill town of Orvieto, just an hour away, is also offered during the week.
The exquisitely restored 17th century stone buildings have been converted into accommodation and overlook a panorama of olive groves and fruit trees. The rooms are designed in a simple, natural style, with a combination of new and antique furnishings. Four of the bedrooms are en-suite, the other rooms share a bathroom between two rooms.
Most rooms can be doubles, twins or triples and there are a limited number of single occupancy rooms available.
There are two single occupancy bell tents and a small camper van close to the pool area with outdoor hot showers and a shared indoor toilet closeby. The tents and camper can be warm in the day but sometimes cold at night. There is no electricity inside the tents - just simple solar lighting. They do not suit everyone - only those who like ‘comfortable camping’.
We had a wonderful week at In Sabina - what a gorgeous place. Our yoga teacher Amelia was great and the whole thing was a very positive experience for someone who doesn’t do much yoga!Ali
I have had the most wonderful week in Sabina! The atmosphere throughout was so harmonious and happy and relaxing. I never knew that one and a half hours of yoga could pass so quickly! Amelia is a fantastic teacher! I can now coordinate breath and movement, which is very fulfilling. Thank you very much for organising such great retreats.Sabina
Fantastico! The teacher Amelia was fab, the group great fun, and In Sabina owner Giulia pays great attention to detail. My second visit, and not my last.Lotte

It is best to take a flight arriving into Rome Fumicino airport between 12 midday and 4pm.
Rome has two airports: Leonardo da Vinci (Fumicino) and Ciampino. Leonardo da Vinci (Fumicino) is the best option for the shared group transfer. From Ciampino it is best to take the train.
Please note that arrival time at In Sabina on 22 June is between 4.30pm and 9pm. In Sabina cannot receive guests before then. The latest departure time on 29 June is 10am. No yoga on travel days.
We recommend that you join the minibus transfer from Leonardo da Vinci (Fumicino) airport which will be arranged to bring you directly to In Sabina. The price is very reasonable (and quick as it takes only 1 hours and 15 minutes) and in many cases costs less than taking the train - the exact price depends on the numbers.
The earliest time a minibus can leave the airport is 3.15pm and we suggest that if you are on an earlier flight that you wait there. You will be advised of the exact meeting point nearer the time.
Departure from In Sabina is by 10am on 29 June.
If you prefer to take a train the closest station to In Sabina is Stimigliano. From Fumicino (Leonardo da Vinci Airport) the train costs €11 one way and takes 1 hour and 50 minutes. A taxi from Stimigliano station costs €25 (for up to 3 people with little luggage). To check train times, see www.ferroviedellostato.it
There is no direct train from Ciampino Airport to Stimigliano Station.
