About Finca Argayall

Finca Argayall is one of the best kept secrets of the Canary Islands. This magical venue on the unspoilt island of La Gomera, sits nestled in the cliffs in a secluded bay. With a spectacularly diverse landscape. The contrast of the rainforest, unspoilt beaches and small fishing towns makes a visit to this island a full and rich experience.

The venue itself runs as a community and welcomes others to experience and respect this beautiful and unique life. There is an organic farm, tropical gardens, a natural spring, two swimming pools and the beach a few steps away.

A wonderful opportunity to take some luxurious time for yourself, to restore and nourish mind, body and soul in the truly healing environment of La Finca. There will be two 90 minute yoga classes each day, suitable for all levels and yoga experience. There will be one yoga free day.

The daily programme

Ceri will offer two sessions each day. The morning practice will gently open the body and attune the mind to the breath, slowly moving and building into a flowing and dynamic sequence.

There will be time set aside in the day to explore and take in the stunning beauty of the surroundings, relax by the pool or dip into the sea just a few steps away. The group will meet again in the late afternoon for a more gentle and restorative class.

The holiday is suitable for all levels of ability. There will be one yoga free day. Please note that due to the unique set up at La Finca, you will also have an opportunity to join their own programme should you so wish. This might include: silent meditation, shamanic dance or even more yoga - a wonderful opportunity to open up and explore!

Things to do

Throughout each day you will be offered three organic vegetarian meals, breakfast, lunch and dinner. Apart from one evening when we can go into the nearby village to taste the culinary delights offered locally. You can also book to go mountain biking, dolphin watching and kayaking. There are plenty of walks on offer on this beautiful island, from traditional fishing villages to rain-forests, banana plantations and secluded sandy beaches.

Or you might just want to stay within the beauty of the venue itself, relaxing by one of the two pools or simply take a few steps onto the beach and go for a swim in the warm, blue sea. Treatments such as massage and homeopathy are also available at an additional cost.

Accommodation

There is a selection of uniquely designed rooms. The terrace rooms with a garden view are quiet, comfortable and prettily decorated with a shared shady veranda that overlooks the tropical gardens. Bathroom facilities are close-by and shared.

The charming and comfortable garden huts are spacious and airy with a private seated area outside. They are set in the lush green gardens with the serene sounds of bird song and the sea.

The pyramid and A-frame are both well furnished little houses with a double bed in this paradise garden with a sitting space outside. The pyramid is ideal for a couple sharing and the A-frame is perfect for single occupancy. All garden accommodation has plentiful shared bathroom facilities close by.

The terrace rooms with a sea view have doors that open out onto a second shared veranda with stunning ocean views. These rooms have en suite bathroom facilities.

The studio apartments are set slightly away from the main area of the Finca with a private pool shared between three apartments. There are a very limited number of rooms for single occupancy.

Client Reviews

I had a truly blissful time in La Gomera, it's such a beautiful, elemental environment to come back to yourself in.
Sally
The retreat was absolutely transformative for me. The Finca Argayall is a magical place. Staff were so wonderful, and all the food was nutritious and delicious. My accommodation was spectacular and I felt safe and welcomed. This was my first time attending a yoga retreat and I really had no idea what to expect.

Ceri is an incredible teacher. She has a warm heart and exudes kindness; she led the group through a powerful emotional journey and adapted the practice to help guide everyone through their own process. We had a challenging group, both in that a number of attendees were yoga instructors themselves but also because I think everyone came to the retreat really wanting to work on an aspect of themselves. I brought home with me an open heart and a clear head, which is something I really wanted to get from the retreat.

I feel that to visit La Gomera you've discovered a haven, precious and rare. To smell the ocean and taste the salt in the air makes you feel as if you've heard the song of the island and your soul has been set free.

La Gomera - YOAS Yoga Retreats

Loosening up on a commune with YOAS on La Gomera, The Canary Islands.

The Global Retreat Company, April 2018

Sharon Walker reviews the enriching yoga holiday at Finca Argayall on La Gomera in The Canary Island and finds an experimental community, a chef to fall in love with and wondrous yoga with the Sparkly Lisa Powell.

It takes a bit of effort to get yourself to the YOAS venue on La Gomera. A flight. A taxi. A boat. Another taxi. So a journey, but worth it. I’ve never much fancied the Canary Islands before, too many Brits for my liking, but Finca Argayall is a million light years from the burnt beer bellies and crowded concrete of South Tenerife; a secluded palmed oasis cradled between soaring volcanic cliff and the inky Atlantic, at the end of a dirt track. It’s a unique spot and a unique set up.

Travel Arrangements

For La Gomera fly to Tenerife South. There are several airlines that fly to this airport.

Skyscanner
TUI
Ryanair
Easyjet

It is best to arrive before midday if possible to take the afternoon ferry across to La Gomera. From the airport you will take a taxi to Los Cristianos ferry port, a 15 minute journey. From here you will take a ferry to the island of La Gomera. The ferry takes about 45 minutes and costs between 30 - 40 euros: www.fredolsen.es

From San Sebastian the group can take a taxi together direct to Finca Argayall or alternatively there is a bus. Some of the ferries also go on to Valle Gran Rey, the harbour close to the Finca, so this can be a better option.

For the return we recommend you take an afternoon flight. It is a little adventure to get to the Finca but really worth it for such a special place.
