About The Cattle Shed

Nestled on the side of the Hope Valley in the heart of the Peak District, this former Cattle Shed is now a stylish and contemporary barn conversion with wonderful views of Froggatt Edge and the surrounding valley.

Close to the market town of Bakewell, the magnificent Chatsworth House and the beautiful medieval Haddon Hall there is plenty to explore. The surrounding landscape rolls out in all directions offering climbing ridges and miles of trails, a walker's paradise.

Retreat programme

The first class will be on Friday evening, followed by a delicious dinner made by our own retreat chef. There will be 2 classes on the Saturday and Sunday, a more dynamic morning class to align to body and breath and an afternoon practice to delve deeper into the postures and relax and restore.

Each day after morning yoga and a healthy breakfast, there will be the opportunity to head out on a long walk, explore the local area or simply relax with a good book.

Arrival time on Friday 12 May is from 4pm onwards. The first yoga session will be at 5.30pm. The weekend will finish on Monday 15 May at 10am after breakfast.

Things to do

Between yoga classes there will be time for you to explore the surrounding countryside with stunning walks of varying length and difficulty right on the door step. The famous Monsal cycle trail is closeby if you fancy an adventure on two wheels. The local town of Bakewell is worth a walk around and a visit to Chatsworth House is a must.

If you are looking to take in the landscape at a slower pace there's a cosy lounge with deep and comfortable sofas and panoramic windows overlooking the breathtaking view. By night there's a large deck perfect for star gazing as you gather around the fire pit.

Accommodation & food

This luxurious house with underfloor heating throughout offers spacious and comfortable rooms all with ensuite bathrooms. A mix of single occupancy, twin and double rooms, many with stunning views of the surrounding valley.

Delicious healthy food will be served throughout the retreat. All meals will be vegetarian delights to nourish body and soul.

Client Reviews

I had a wonderful weekend. This was my first YOAS retreat and it did not disappoint. A beautiful location with no shortage of things to do. As a group we formed amazing connections which made the whole experience an absolute joy. I would highly recommend YOAS to anyone interested in a yoga retreat.

My feedback on the yoga weekend is all positive: the venue was stunning - so serene and tranquil. The accommodation and food were lovely. I really enjoyed the weekend, from the booking process with you right to the end of the break and I can't think of anything which I would have changed.

Clem was an amazing teacher, who had such a positive and calming energy about her, which radiated through the group. She made the sessions really accessible regardless of previous yoga experience and provided the guidance and support to allow me to fully embrace the practice. If Clem ran classes local to me, I'd be signing up now! It's left me inspired and keen to take up a regular yoga class and hopefully sometime in the future attend another yoga retreat too. So thank you both for helping me on my journey!
