About Yewfield

Yewfield is a traditional and comfortable vegetarian B&B set in an idyllic location in the heart of the English Lake District. It is ideally situated for breathtaking walks and offers magnificent views of this exquisite region of rare natural beauty.

There are over 80 acres of land around the house, including native woodland, rough fell pasture, a small tarn and a stream. The grazed pasture is carefully managed giving priority to ecological considerations.

Retreat programme

There will be yoga classes each morning and evening in the light and airy yoga studio with garden views and a log burner.

Morning classes will offer meditation, pranayama and a flowing asana practice to strengthen and align the body. The evening classes will be more restorative, working towards a greater depth of awareness and sense of inner peace.

Each day after morning yoga and breakfast, there will be the opportunity to explore the area's many walks and breathtaking surroundings with a picnic lunch.

Arrival time on Thursday 15 May is from 3pm onwards. You can arrive earlier from 1pm if you want to explore the beautiful surroundings. The first yoga session will be at 5pm. The weekend will finish mid-morning on Sunday after yoga and breakfast.

Things to do

Yewfield is set in a quiet elevated position with panoramic views over the Vale of Esthwaite, Lake Windermere and the Fells beyond and just a short distance from Tarn Hows, a well known landmark in the Lake District.

Between yoga classes there will be time for you to explore the woodland, open fell and lakes that start right from the front door. Or you can curl up with a good book in the lounge, a quiet space to relax and enjoy the fine views in comfort.

Accommodation

Situated in over 30 acres of its own grounds, Yewfield is an impressive country house with Gothic architecture dating back to 1859.

Rooms are furnished to a high standard. Double and twin rooms at Yewfield are individually appointed to a very high standard, all with en-suite bathrooms, TV, radio and tea/coffee making facilities.

Client Reviews

Molly’s yoga retreat was brilliant. It was a transformative retreat for me, I did not want it to end. I really appreciated Molly's yoga teaching, and that she brought so much more than the poses, to her teaching. She helped remind me about my own practice of yoga - beyond the mat. Molly brought so many qualities-in particular I appreciated her warmth, intuition, gentle patience, and wisdom. I could go on! I’ll be looking out for more of her retreats, and highly recommend them!

We both had a lovely time in The Lakes and at the retreat. The yoga was great and Yewfield has fantastic walks nearby and is very peaceful.
