About Bonhays

Bonhays is a beautiful eco-retreat centre, nestled in the hills of West Dorset, between Bridport and Lyme Regis and just two miles from the sea. The setting is secluded and peaceful, surrounded by beautiful countryside.

Set around a central courtyard with the soft curves of the straw buildings and the hills beyond, there is quiet and stillness here. Bonhays has lovely communal areas to relax and chat in as well as many peaceful and secluded spots for quiet and reflection. There is also an indoor heated swimming pool.

The coast and beaches are just two miles away if you want to get a dose of sea air and enjoy a beach walk or you may simply want to enjoy a peaceful moment on the decking and watch the sunset, swim peacefully in the pool, share wonderful meals in the conservatory, practice yoga and meditation; be and rejuvenate.

Retreat programme

There will be a yoga class with Lila on Friday evening and meditation after dinner. On Saturday there will be two yoga classes, plus plenty of time to walk, rest, relax or take a dip in the pool or even the sea. There will be a yoga class on Sunday morning before brunch and goodbyes.

There are plenty of lovely walks, local beaches to visit and ample space to simply relax.

Accommodation & food

Single, shared twin or double rooms are available. Bathrooms, shower and toilet facilities are shared.

There is also a charming shepherd's hut set in a quiet corner looking up the Marshwood Valley and a magical little house tucked away in the woods. The hut and the little house both have a double bed, electricity, a wood burner and are fully insulated. The hut has an outside tap and access to shared bathroom facilities closeby. The little house has a mezzanine bed, a small kitchen area and its own outside shower and toilet.

Camping with your own tent or camper van is also an option.

The chef at Bonhays sources local ingredients and produces healthy and delicious vegetarian lunch and dinner. Supplies are provided for breakfast and this is prepared by the group.

Katie
I had a wonderful weekend! Everything was perfect. My accommodation in the shepherd's hut was cosy and quirky and felt like a complete treat. I was just so happy to be looked after, in a lovely setting and introduced for the first time to the concept of a relaxing yoga break.
Harriet
Lila is a truly exceptional yoga practitioner. Every session was beautifully constructed and different each time. She was a warm and welcoming host and ensured that all the guest’s yoga abilities were catered for. I look forward to joining her again in the future.
