Holiday ExpiredAbout ecoYoga
ecoYoga has been created as an expression of a healthy, happy, carbon free, sustainable lifestyle. The retreat centre offers luxurious accommodation for a genuinely ‘eco’ holiday. Set in magnificent Scottish scenery with hills, lochs, rivers, waterfalls and forests abound. ecoYoga has been designed and built with yoga at its very centre. It is a beautiful place to immerse yourself in practice and to study and learn, to really go deeper. It really is an idyllic spot for a retreat as you feel like time stands still and you can reconnect to nature, to yourself and to your practice.
The daily programme
This retreat offers a wonderful opportunity for you to relax your mind, rejuvenate your body, reawaken your spirit and deepen your practice. Each day will begin with a strong and dynamic asana class in the glazed yoga studio, over-looking the gorge of the River Liever. After the morning session brunch will be served.
During the day there will be plenty of time for walks, natural bathing or curling up with a good book. There will be a delicious healthy light lunch and the group will meet again in the late afternoon for a relaxing and restorative class.
Meditation and yoga philosophy will be woven into the afternoon classes with the gently soothing sounds of the nearby waterfalls in the background. During the time together you will use the restorative power of prana, readings, asana and mantra to send you back into the world more open, receptive and ready for change. Evening practice will be followed by dinner.
Arrival is anytime from 2pm onwards on Thursday 14th May (latest check-in is 9pm) and departure time is by 12 midday on Monday 18th May.
Things to do
In the evenings the main house offers a welcoming lounge with a grand piano and a wood pellet burning fire, to ensure warm and comfortable evenings. Meal times are fun and sociable with the whole group sitting down together for meals. All meals are vegetarian using fresh produce from the garden where possible. The workshop cafe is another communal lounging area with tea and coffee for guests to help themselves to.
There are several bathing areas and showers to choose from. Inspired by the Japanese tradition of the 'Sento' or public bathing house you can soak in the natural wooden hot tub in the Dome, or choose some hideaway bathing spots in the forest or river bank. The artisan underground sauna is a real treat, perfect for warming up and relaxing those muscles.
There are two cold plunge pools for cooling off, filled with water straight from the spring. Plunging into the pools is both exhilarating and fun. It is really good for the circulation and the immune system. It will keep you healthy all year round and make your body tingle. A sure way to feel alive.
The outdoor heated bathtubs are the ultimate in natural bathing and an experience not to be missed. It really is a magical opportunity to connect with nature and indulge your wild side. It has been proven that being surrounded by greenery helps you to relax and combats the effect of stress. This special setting is sure to make you feel at ease and at one with mother nature.
Accommodation
ecoYoga offers 10 comfortable double rooms each with a luxurious bed and an en-suite toilet and sink and showers at either end of the building.
The venue also offers a converted bothy (a traditional Scottish shelter for walkers) with three double rooms and a shared toilet. It has under-floor heating and is light, spacious and modern. The dome is right outside so only a short dash to the hot tub and showers too.
The newest accommodation is a state of the art all-season triple yurt. There are three single artisan made beds, each with a curtain for privacy. The yurt comes complete with its own little lounge area with a sofa and a lamp for reading. It has oil radiators and gets really toasty and snug inside. There is no toilet inside the yurt for hygiene and odour reasons, but there is a toilet just a short dash away and the showers are in the dome with the hot tub which is right out front.
