About the country house
This Queen Anne style country house is stunning and spacious; set within six acres of landscaped gardens on the edge of the Oxfordshire-Buckinghamshire border. A setting that offers a luxury escape in the peace and tranquility of the countryside but within easy reach of London, Oxford, Birmingham and other surrounding areas.
Once you arrive you feel immediately at home. Whether it is settling down in a deep armchair, taking a long bath in one of the unique bathrooms or going for a quiet walk in the apple orchard. For over a century this elegant mansion house has been the perfect place to escape the bustle of city life.
The first class will be on Friday evening, followed by a delicious dinner. Emma will then lead you through two classes on the Saturday and Sunday, a more dynamic morning class to align to body and breath and an afternoon practice to delve deeper into the postures and relax and restore.
Three nourishing vegetarian meals, breakfast, lunch and dinner, will be offered on the Saturday and Sunday. On Monday there will be a morning practice followed by brunch.
Each day between classes, there will be the opportunity to walk, have a massage, relax in one of the comfy lounges with a good book or take a long bath.
Things to do
The surrounding countryside is perfect for taking long country walks and the house grounds and gardens offer space to sit in nature and simply be. There will be massages on offer in the free time, or you can curl up on one of the big sofas to read or enjoy an afternoon nap.
Accommodation & food
The luxurious rooms are spacious, light and offer an extremely comfortable haven to relax and rest in. Bathrooms are plentiful and shared. The sitting rooms have deep, comfy sofas and expansive views of nature and the surrounding countryside.
Delicious, healthy food will be served throughout the retreat. All meals will be vegetarian delights to nourish body and soul.
It was great! Emma is an excellent teacher and really embraces the spirit of yoga. She was thoughtful and helpful, and would always give options for the more difficult poses. The classes were interesting and challenging in part, which is the way it should be!Roger
We all had a fab time on our weekend in Oxfordshire. Our only complaint was that we wished it was longer! Food was totally fabulous, the house is amazing. Such a privilege to stay in a place like that. Looking forward to the next one and I recommend YOAS frequently to my friends.Jenny
