About Finca Argayall

Finca Argayall is one of the best kept secrets of the Canary Islands. This magical venue is set on the ocean in a secluded bay enveloped by cliffs and surrounded by a spectacularly diverse landscape. The contrast of the rainforest, unspoilt beaches and small fishing towns makes a visit to the island of La Gomera a full and rich experience.

The venue itself runs as a working community with a spiritual ethos for growth and welcomes others to experience this beautiful and unique life. There is an organic farm, tropical gardens, a natural spring, two swimming pools and the beach a few steps away.

With access very limited only by sea or along the closed road following a rockfall, the Finca offers the perfect setting for those with an adventurous spirit looking to immerse in a remote retreat. An environment where you can fully detach, unwind, connect with nature and find resource and new energy.

Retreat programme

Each day the morning class with Jess will gently open the body and attune the mind to the breath, the class will slowly move and build into a flowing and dynamic sequence, always incorporating the cultivation of awareness, physical alignment and the breath.

The afternoon sessions will be more gentle and restorative, often including pranayama, meditation or yoga nidra as part of the practice. The classes will be suitable for all levels and yoga experience.

There will be one yoga free afternoon during the week to allow time to take a trip or rest and restore. There will also be the opportunity to join the Finca's own meditations and other offerings should you so wish.

Arrival to the Finca will be on 4 October and departure on 11 October and you might want to consider extending your stay before and after, either with extra nights on Tenerife or La Gomera or at the Finca. This will ease the arrival and departure between the Finca and the local town of Valle Gran Rey which must take place in daylight hours.

Things to do

There will be morning and evening classes each day and one yoga free afternoon. Between classes days can be spent relaxing by the pool or you simply take a few steps onto the beach and take an invigorating swim in the ocean, which is possible most of the time but it can be too rough in the winter months.

The Finca is a place where personal space is respected and there are many quiet places in the tropical gardens or looking out to the sea, perfect for reflection, journalling and deep contemplation without distraction.

The wonderful healers in the community are often able to offer massage and homeopathic treatments at an additional cost. For the yoga free afternoon there's an optional whale and dolphin watching boat trip.

This retreat is a wonderful opportunity to take some time for yourself, to restore and nourish mind, body and soul in the truly healing environment of La Finca.

Accommodation & food

Throughout each day you will be offered three nourishing vegetarian meals made with produce from the Finca's own organic garden or sourced locally.

The Finca offers a selection of uniquely designed rooms. The garden view rooms are quiet, comfortable and prettily decorated with a shared shady veranda that overlooks the tropical gardens. Bathroom facilities are close-by and shared.

The charming and comfortable garden huts are spacious and airy with a private seated area outside. They are set in the lush green gardens with the serene sounds of bird song and the sea.

The seaview rooms have doors that open out onto a shared veranda with stunning ocean views. These rooms have en suite bathroom facilities.

Client Reviews

I absolutely loved Jess Horn's retreat in La Gomera, Jess is a wonderful teacher and created a beautiful retreat focusing on the 5 elements. It was such a relaxing, restorative and fun week with an amazing group. The Finca is a beautiful place and if you really want to get away from it all, it is perfect place for a retreat. The food is great, and staying in the Finca community is a truly unique and special experience.

Travel Arrangements

Saturday 4 October - Saturday 11 October 2025

For La Gomera fly to Tenerife South. There are several airlines that fly to this airport.

Skyscanner
TUI
Ryanair
Easyjet

Arrival to the Finca will be on 4 october and departure on 11 October and you might want to consider extending your stay before and after if possible, either with extra nights on Tenerife or La Gomera or at the Finca. This will ease the arrival and departure by boat or by vehicle along the closed road between the Finca and the local town of Valle Gran Rey which must take place in daylight hours.

If you fly in on 4 October it is best to arrive before midday if possible to take the afternoon ferry across to La Gomera. There's usually a 14.00 ferry to San Sebastian and sometimes a 16.00 ferry that connects and goes all the way to Valle Gran Rey.

From the airport you will take a taxi to Los Cristianos ferry port, a 15 minute journey. From here you will take a ferry to the island of La Gomera. The ferry takes about 45 minutes to San Sebastian and costs about 40 euros.

From San Sebastian there is sometimes a connecting smaller ferry to Valle Gran Rey, the town close to the Finca. This is usually the best option.

If there isn't a connecting ferry, the group can take a taxi together direct to Valle Gran Rey, or alternatively there is a bus. From Valle Gran Rey there will be a short transfer by private boat or by adapted vehicle over the rockfall. The Finca will be ask you to sign a liabilty disclaimer for the last part of the journey on the closed road.

For the return if you fly out on 11 October you will need to take an afternoon or early evening flight.

If you choose to walk into the local village during your stay this is done at your own risk. It is a little adventure to get to the Finca but really worth it for such a special place.
