Holiday ExpiredAbout Finca Argayall
Finca Argayall is one of the best kept secrets of the Canary Islands. This magical venue on the unspoilt island of La Gomera, sits nestled in the cliffs in a secluded bay. With a spectacularly diverse landscape. The contrast of the rainforest, unspoilt beaches and small fishing towns makes a visit to this island a full and rich experience.
The venue itself runs as a community and welcomes others to experience and respect this beautiful and unique life. There is an organic farm, tropical gardens, a natural spring, two swimming pools and the beach a few steps away.
With access very limited only by sea or private road following a rockfall, this is the perfect setting for a remote retreat in the Finca environment, where you can fully detach, unwind, connect with nature and find resource and new energy.
Retreat programme
Each day the morning class with Ceri will begin with a Vipassana meditation, followed by a dynamic sequence to increase energy and blood flow, focusing on the key asanas of classical yoga.
The afternoon sessions will deep dive into exploring the rainbow bridge of chakras, energy centres in the body that can become blocked due to trauma or the chronic manifestation of unhelpful habits. Ceri will work with each chakra separately, masterfully weaving visualisations, meditations and breathwork to tap into the energetic field of the body and clear any blockages, enabling free flow of energy in the body.
There will be one yoga free day during the week to allow time to take a trip or rest and restore. There will also be the opportunity to join the Finca's own meditations and other offerings should you so wish.
Arrival to the Finca will be on 24 June and departure on 1 July and you might want to consider extending your stay before and after, either with extra nights on Tenerife or La Gomera or at the Finca. This will ease the arrival and departure between the Finca and the local town of Valle Gran Rey which must take place in daylight hours.
Things to do
Throughout each day you will be offered three organic vegetarian meals, breakfast, lunch and dinner.
There will be morning and evening yoga classes each day, suitable for all levels and yoga experience. Between yoga classes days can be spent relaxing by one of the two pools or simply take a few steps onto the beach and go for a swim in the warm, blue sea. A whale and dolphin watching trip and treatments such as massage and homeopathy are also available at an additional cost.
A wonderful opportunity to take some luxurious time for yourself, to restore and nourish mind, body and soul in the truly healing environment of La Finca.
Accommodation
There is a selection of uniquely designed rooms. The terrace rooms with a garden view are quiet, comfortable and prettily decorated with a shared shady veranda that overlooks the tropical gardens. Bathroom facilities are close-by and shared.
The charming and comfortable garden huts are spacious and airy with a private seated area outside. They are set in the lush green gardens with the serene sounds of bird song and the sea.
The pyramid and A-frame are both well furnished little houses with a double bed in this paradise garden with a sitting space outside. The pyramid is ideal for a couple sharing and the A-frame is perfect for single occupancy. All garden accommodation has plentiful shared bathroom facilities close by.
The terrace rooms with a sea view have doors that open out onto a second shared veranda with stunning ocean views. These rooms have en suite bathroom facilities.

Loosening up on a commune with YOAS on La Gomera, The Canary Islands.
The Global Retreat Company, April 2018
Sharon Walker reviews the enriching yoga holiday at Finca Argayall on La Gomera in The Canary Island and finds an experimental community, a chef to fall in love with and wondrous yoga with the Sparkly Lisa Powell.
It takes a bit of effort to get yourself to the YOAS venue on La Gomera. A flight. A taxi. A boat. Another taxi. So a journey, but worth it. I’ve never much fancied the Canary Islands before, too many Brits for my liking, but Finca Argayall is a million light years from the burnt beer bellies and crowded concrete of South Tenerife; a secluded palmed oasis cradled between soaring volcanic cliff and the inky Atlantic, at the end of a dirt track. It’s a unique spot and a unique set up.

From San Sebastian the group can take a taxi together direct to Valle Gran Rey, the town close to the Finca, or alternatively there is a bus. From Valle Gran Rey there will be a short transfer by private boat or vehicle.

It is a little adventure to get to the Finca but really worth it for such a special place.
