About Cortijo San Jose
Set on a hilltop, the 200-year-old Cortijo offers magnificent views of the rolling countryside, olive groves and a laguna which is home to flamingos.
Cortijo San Jose is full of warmth, character and charm, offering beautiful accommodation, a saltwater pool, sun terrace, gardens, a courtyard and plenty of hidden corners for relaxation. The Cortijo is completely off-grid with all power generated by the sun.
Located in the heart of Andalusia, the cultural delights of Cordoba, Seville, Granada and Ronda, or walking the Caminito del Rey, are just a day trip away.
Retreat programme
There will be two yoga classes each day with Sunita in the light and airy converted barn space or on a shaded terrace overlooking the hills and olive groves.
Each day will begin with a morning class of meditation, pranayama and an energising morning flow to gently open the body and attune the mind to the breath. The classes will be suitable for all levels and yoga experience.
The afternoon class will be a more gentle and restorative yin class, to delve deeper into the postures.
Between yoga classes there will be the chance to explore the beautiful natural surroundings or simply rest and relax. During the week there will be one yoga free day or two yoga free half days.
Things to do
There will be plenty of time to rest and relax, soak up the sun by the pool, read your book in a hammock or take a massage with a specialised therapist.
Or you can head off for a walk to explore the stunning countryside or take a trip to visit one of the many beautiful and culturally rich towns and cities of Andalusia. Cordoba, Seville, Granada and Ronda are just a day trip away.
If booked in advance, it is also possible to walk the Caminito del Rey, a spectacular path running through cliffs, ravines and gorges.
Accommodation & food
Cortijo San Jose offers comfortable and spacious bedrooms beautifully decorated in Andalusian Moorish style.
There are single, double, twin and triple room options in the Cortijo and two garden houses, many overlooking the surrounding hills and laguna, or with private terraces. Most rooms have en suite bathrooms and some rooms have a bathroom shared with just one other room.
Throughout the day you will be offered three delicious vegetarian meals, breakfast, lunch and dinner, prepared with the freshest seasonal, locally-sourced fruits and vegetables.

Travel Arrangements
Malaga and Seville are the closest international airports to the property. Both are a 1 hour 30 minute drive away. Several airlines fly to both airports, some are listed below.

Arrival to the Cortijo is from 17.00 on 13 October and departure by 11am on 20 October.
For an affordable group transfer we recommend taking a flight to Malaga that arrives in time for a group transfer between 15.30-16.30 on 13 October and a return flight that departs from Malaga early afternoon on 20 October.
Transfers cost approx €35-40 one way when shared with others and up to €150-160 for a solo transfer.
